MASHUP

MASHUP: ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING

Architecture is an art. Yet, architecture moves a step beyond painting and sculpture because it is more than using materials. We humans live in two worlds. First, there is the outer world of appearances- all of the forms of things that captivate our eye. But hidden from our view is another world- how these things actually function, their anatomy or composition, the parts working together and forming the whole.Architecture  responds to functional outputs and environmental factors.  Yet, fundamentally, it is important to stress the art in architecture to bring harmonyTechnology is just as poetic once we understand it- it contains the secret of life, of how things move and change. Buildings are no longer just designed visually and spatially; they are “computed” via interconnected databases. The computer is transforming every aspect of how architects are able to work, from sketching their first impressions of an idea to creating complex construction documents. By taking drawings into the 3-D,it allows one to layer a drawing on top of another, building on what they have drawn before and, again, creating a personal, emotional connection with the work.

CRYENGINE ENVIRONMENT

This environment I choose is Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Yunnan, south-west of china. The construction of the three dimensional environment was influenced by the photographs as well as my memory from my visit there when I was ten.

Ideas: Relationships bewteen the 2 monuments, meeting point and environment

I explored different placements of the two monuments and meeting place with close relationship to the environment. The monument for Sou Fujimoto is on a little mountain and the monument for Adolf Loos is down the mountain. It links to the meeting place which is in the cave beneath the mountain.
